in your log file indicates a problem with your Xcode installation. Check if everything is up-to-date with the commands

softwareupdate -l

and

brew update

which both should report that everything is OK like the command

brew doctor

Moreover, I suggest to install gawk with

brew install gawk

Further details are reported in the tools/toolchain/build/openmpi-5.0.6/config.log file.

Subject: [CP2K:20999] Error compiling cp2k on Apple Mac M3
Hello,

I followed the directions under https://www.cp2k.org/howto:compile_on_macos to compile cp2k (parallel .psmp version) on my Mac M3 Pro machine; the instructions are tested to work on Mac M1. However, I get the following attached error when I try to compile.

My C-compiler versions are as follows:

% gcc --version

gcc (Homebrew GCC 14.2.0_1) 14.2.0

% gfortran --version

GNU Fortran (Homebrew GCC 14.2.0_1) 14.2.0

% g++ --version

g++ (Homebrew GCC 14.2.0_1) 14.2.0
I would greatly appreciate any help!
