DIIS VS. CG

DIIS is generally faster, although may "get stuck" for certain systems and 
not converge.
CG, with an appropriate line search, is robust and reliable, but is more 
expensive. 

Testing is needed to decide what's appropriate for your work, but DIIS 
should rightly be the default.
